June 2004, that’s when I started my adventure and first job at the Sheraton Krakow Hotel… Department that became my home it was of course HOUSEKEEPING.
I remember my first day very good, especially that it was a day just before that grand opening and I spend it vacuuming all floors. Carpet was brand new and the hotel still had a new construction scent. Everyone was super busy running around getting all the details read. Grand opening for every hotel is a big deal, but somehow it is always an extreme rush. This one was no different. Anyway back to my vacuum… If you never been to Sheraton in Krakow I do highly recommend it. I think it is one of the best if not the best Hotel in the city. The location is just prime, right on the Vistula river bank and just down the street from the Wawel Castle. Nothing can beat that! Outside not really outstanding design, actually I can’t remember the year but it was nominated to “Arcyszopa” award (ugliest building design award ;-)).
You pass the revolving door… and you enter into a jaw dropping lobby with triangle shaped glass roof…
