Linen and Houseman Supervisor, that’s my title and work scope for another year from promotion. I always had my eyes on the grand prize and my ultimate goal was back then and still is to become a General Manager. I never wanted to rush anything I wanted always to get to the top organically and naturally by proving that I am a hard worker and I am not afraid on taking on new challenges.
Year 2008 passes by, Sheraton in Krakow was know for it’s amazing location, we always were at 80% of occupancy minimum. Super busy especially on Sundays when we could have as much as 200 departures in a 232 rooms hotel. What a turn over, loved every second of work. The biggest prize was always for me when everyone went home, we sorted and sent out all the dirty linen and fill up the closets that sense of calm after the storm. During day sheets towels flying around everywhere, everyone running like crazy and in the evening pure silence, no more rush. Just clean spaces ready for another day.
So I think it was nowhere in summer time June/July when I noticed that Sheraton in Ponzan was looking for a Housekeeping Manager… I thought to myself this is my moment, now or never! I got my resume ready and filled up the application then one moment of hovering mouse pointer over that small button with the sign “submit your application” and “click”… Done! I applied for Housekeeping Manager position at the Sheraton Krakow Hotel in Poznan!
