I am not sure if I have mentioned that before but I was very lucky in quickly finding an apartment.
I moved in immediately and when I found it online I couldn’t believe the price and location. Less than 500ft away, I could wake up at 8:50am and still make it to work by 9am. Apartment was in a small 30 unit building just across the street from the old ZOO, building from outside looked like a castle with towers on the corners. My apartment was on the top floor facing the back alley just above entrance to the underground parking. It was a small studio with little kitchenette. It was already furnished so it was move in and live in ready immediately. It was 3 min walk to the Hotel, 5min walk to the tram stop, 30min walk to main square and 15min walk to train station. Perfect location. I have enjoyed living there for those 2 years. Comfortable living space really helps to relax after long days at work.
Now let’s get to know the city a bit more, Poznan is the capital of Wielkopolska (on of the districts/states) and it is located in the west and middle side of Poland. From there in 2h you can get to polish capital city Warsaw or if you go west you will end up in Berlin. From my beloved Krakow it was 5h drive south-east. It’s a vibrant modern and business oriented city with small but very adorable main market square. In summer you can sit in all the outside patios of the restaurants which is plenty. It has a very nice vibe and one thing that always amazed me it was that after 7pm it was quiet. Night life concentrated mostly around main market square but outside city felt deserted.
I have enjoyed every moment living there…
