Getting stressed about upcoming events, cold blood guide…

I am not sure I remember how long it took to receive that email stating ” Mr. Chwalik thank you for your application, when would be the best time to set up a phone interview?”. I don’t think I have ever been more excited. I remember sitting in my little corner “office” behind all the shelfs with linen and reading that email. I thought to myself “how is this possible”, “I can’t believe that this is happening”. Of course this was just a first stage but my mind was going crazy from happiness and joy that actually I have been noticed and I might be a good fit for the new role. I notified my manager about those possible upcoming changes, I think everyone got pretty excited… Starting as a houseman in 2004 and 4 years later looking at being promoted to manager? Not in my wildest dreams.

Interviews went surprisingly well, a least that’s what I have thought to myself. You had co completed few online tests and take through different work related situation with the recruiter. It was a good experience. Not long after the call from HR of the Sheraton in Poznan itself happened, I was invited to come over for interview in person. Everything was set up and ready and I think for my first interview I went by train. Long several hours and here I am at the door step of new Hotel. I had an amazing interview with General Manager Iva Trifonov. Till today I am extremely thankful for trusting me and giving me that opportunity. I remember when she said that she feels like I will be a good fit and she would love to see me succeed in my position. Can’t express my gratitude enough for that trust.

So here it is… October of 2008, goodbyes at the place I have been worked for so long and started my journey and now off to new adventure… Sheraton Poznan Hotel here I come.
