Here we are, October of 2008 I did accepted position of Housekeeping Manager in Sheraton in Poznan. Slightly smaller hotel than Krakow with only 182 rooms. Where to start…
Well let’s start from all good byes, it wasn’t easy to say that to my team in Krakow, especially when you work with all wonderful people for 4 years. They became my work family so I was happy that everyone actually got very excited for my ne role… So here we go, let the packing begin, at that time I lived in a tiny apartment in Podgorze that was not very far from work, since I was always minimalist did not have also too many items to bring with me. The one thing I had to it was to buy a new car, since after my trip to Poznan some strange noises started to occur in the engine… So I got myself not only a new job but also a new car. It was a beautiful brand new Red Honda Civic. It was hilarious as I got the car from dealership just one day before my move. So of course it was a bit sleepless night as I was constantly looking out of the window if my car is still safe and sound downstairs. I woke up pretty early too after sleepless night, I think it was nerves, I packed the car to full – 4 ikea moving boxes, 2 suitcases, one washer, few garbage bags of clothes and off I go. Told you I haven’t had many items to move… one full car of stuff that’s all.
Drive ahead it was about 5h 35min, but somewhere 20km into the A4 highway I had to pull over to the side as I got extremely emotional… I felt like something is crushing my heart and tears came down from my eyes. I got very emotional, can’t explain but felt like breaking up with love of your life. After few minutes I was ready to continue my journey. Blasted some of my favorite music and continued my trip.
I reached Poznan pretty late and as far as I remember I think it was Saturday. I checked in into the hotel and passed out from being tired after the whole trip…
One thing I promised to my team in Krakow and my boss at that time… like a “Terminator” would say… “I will be back…” 😉
